What would you write in your Will?!

what will you leave behind for our children?

One of the quarks of the English language is how one word can be used in so many different ways. For example, in my last post I talked about a “will do” list. The same word “Will” is used to refer to the ability to apply yuorself to something i.e. “will” power.

We also talk about writing a “will” for bequesting our possessions upon dying to whomever we choose to.

Create a “Will Do” list to get ahead in life

2007 is your year

My father recently gave me a lovely desk diary for 2007 – it has a week on each two pages. Though I use Microsoft Outlook for all my planning and my diary management, I now use this “old fashioned” diary to write down the 5 things I will do without fail that day.

Do you struggle with a long to do list every day?

Desiderata - strive to be happy …

be happy and blissful

Every now and then you come across a verse or some words of inspiration that stay with you forever.

I first came across Desiderata years ago during my college days.

Then a couple of years ago, a friend visiting from Ireland gave me a beautiful golden frame with these words from Max Ehrmann etched on a collage of handmade papers and natural pressed flowers – one of the most beautiful gifts I have ever received and one to be treasured always.

Keep your energy high!

energy, the juice of life

To get the life you love and to live it, you will need lots of energy to live it to the full, and to do everything you would like to. You can indeed have all the energy and support you need in your life - simply get clear on what you need to do in order to make it happen.

To start with, visualise a time when you have felt really energised. Write a few sentences on where you were and what you were doing.

Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it

let providence create magic for you

A friend once sent me a beautiful, hand-written card a few years ago – I now refer to this card anytime I seek added inspiration.

These famous words are from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe:-

The power of transformation and the human spirit

you are powerful beyond measure

A few years ago, I came across this story of a woman who did some amazing transformational work in South African prisons.

I found this story very inspiring and was one of the reasons I was so attracted to coaching in the first place. I am so glad the links are still active :-)

Let the Tiger in you come out!

there is a tiger in all of us!

All of us have a tiger in us - we just have to let it come out!

Though we may be floating through life like a butterfly, all of us can become powerful and take charge of our lives.

The tiger has been my favourite animal ever since I saw one majestically glide through the air in an Esso (Exxon) tv commercial.

Peace Train to Iran

peace train coming to you soon

Like a lot of people I am worried about the dire prospect of war in Iran.

Just what will it take to bring peace to the Middle East and the world?

Turn up your speakers, and check out these moving pictures of the other side of Iran - these are images of Tehran that we rarely see on our Western TV screens.

Boost your confidence…

jump and gain in confidence

For my regular coaching column in “Asian Woman”, I was recently asked this question:-

I am feeling a little low in confidence right now, whereas everyone around me seems to be quite brash and perky. What can I do to boost my confidence?

This is what I replied:-

The Universal Language of Love

I love you no matter what

After all my articles of Love on Valentine’s day, a friend sent me a wonderful list of saying “I Love You” in a number of different languages.

Such a list can of course never be complete to encompass all the languages in the world but hopefully you will now just what to say to your loved ones in whatever major language you choose :-)

I am sure there are a few errors in this list, both spelling and phrasing, but at the end of the day the essence of the message is the same - love is all that matters.

A healthy knee is a friend indeed

be friends with your knee!

This afternoon my mother had a major operation - she had a knee joint replaced. Considering how major the operation is, she was very brave and was actually looking forward to it. Years of chronic pain due to arthritis are now hopefully behind her.

Give your best no matter what…

Give your best no matter what and keep smiling

Another thing I have learnt from successful people is that they always give their best, no matter what. They do not make half hearted efforts and they play full out.

Happiness is your birthright!

Smile and be happy!

Some people always seem to be happy, smiling and full of sunshine. Others seem to believe that they have a right to be happy, and that other people should make them happy.

Some people even believe that when they are not happy, they have a right to complain about it and that complaining will cause them to be happy!

Get into action – no more excuses!

there is time for both fun and work!

Are you very creative when it comes to thinking up excuses?! Would you rather be a beach bum than get on with the really important things in life?

(Having fun on the beach is of course fine - as long as you have made the time for it :-) )

Procrastination is the art of putting things off and most of us are highly skilled at doing this!

Adopt a hurry up programme now!

hurry up now!

I am lucky and blessed to have some very successful and enterprising people in my life as friends. Also, through my work I constantly meet inspiring and go getting people.

I am always curious about what makes such people tick and I often ask them to share their secrets and tips for what got them there.

Sai Baba, Shiv Baba, Rum Baba!

rum baba - my baba!

Food is one of my favourite topics in life. Everyone should be have some major passions in life - one of mine is food. After all food is what sustains us through thick and thin.

Many years ago during my college days I came across this amazing sweet dish called Rum Baba. Life was never the same again. Anytime rum baba was on the menu, I used to have the dessert before the main course.
