“Show more compassion” - my last ever blog message
It is 30th June, and we are at the half way point in the year.
How quickly this year has flown by! Having recently suffered the sad loss of a friend, I am reminded more than ever before of the futility and fragility of our lives.
No more clothes smelling of smoke!

The new law to ban smoking from public places finally comes into place from tomorrow in England.
A whole new era begins of cleaner bars, clubs and restaurants. It will be wonderful to go out socialising and not have to worry about inhaling secondary smoke and going home with smelly clothes.
Blue moon - and time for new beginnings!

Today is blue moon day!
Before you got outside to check out the colour of the moon through the rainy clouds, being blue just means that it is the second full moon of this month.
A new man at 10, Downing Street :-)
A new man has entered 10 Downing Street today:-)
No matter what you think of Gordon Brown and his political leanings, you have to admire the achievement of his life long ambition.
So what burning ambition are you going to achieve in your life time?!
Working from home more and more is the future
I was recently interviewed by a radio show about working from home, which has always been seen as a luxury for a few lucky and high profile people. But now more and people are looking at flexible working as an exciting prospect.
The question though is whether working from home equals higher productivity. Just what would it be like to say leave the buzz of going to the office and having the social life with colleagues and working from the comfort of your own home?
Consumer power is here to stay - have your say

A few weeks ago I wrote about Masterfoods were planning to introduce an animal product in its range of chocolates including Mars Bar.
This sneaky plan by Masterfoods caused quite a stir with the company receiving over 6,000 calls and emails and 40 MPs even signing a petition. The Vegetarian Society urged members to complain to the company, their MP or local newspaper.
People in your life are precious so appreciate them.
I am back writing and in the swing of things once again.
The last 3 weeks have been rather surreal after the tragic death of a very close friend. This was only a week after we had spent the best part of a week together. So the last month has certainly been a life changing period.
Father’s day – time to remember just what your father has done for you!
It is father’s day today (Sunday, June 17th, 2007) in the UK, USA and many other countries around the world.
Father’s day is becoming an important day of celebration and gradually catching up with the more popular mother’s day worldwide. Now the fifth most popular purchased greeting cards in the USA are for father’s day cards.
Whereas mother’s day is seen to be more sentimental, I believe father’s day is seen more as a day of practical gift giving such as DIY tools etc. However the most popular Father’s Day present is apparently the gift of a tie.
Changing the world through the young people of today
It is 60 years this month that a remarkable book by a remarkable girl was published.
Anne Frank’s Diary was published on 25th June 1947 and has inspired generations of children ever since.
Nearly 40 million copies of Anne’ diary have been published in nearly 70 years. Burmese to Bengali and Belarussion, Kazak to Khmer and Korean, just imagine all these children sitting behind a diverse-range of book covers, being captivated by her words.
Later today, on Anne Fran’s 78th birthday, I will be attending an event to celebrate her life and her words. To mark this day, many other children will be honoured for their own unique achievements.
In the meantime, join me and also help spread her message by learning and living by the Anne Frank Declaration:-
Food for the Body & Soul and “Fit Enough for the Gods.”
Food is what sustains us all but why not also delight all your senses at the same time!? Anything you eat should be good for the body & soul and fit enough for the gods.
This week I am honoured to be hosting the Carnival of the Recipes and what a wonderful set of divine and mouthwatering recipes are coming your way
