Thanks Madeleine, I am so glad my words made a big impact on you :-)

What I have learnt is that just by adjusting a few things in your meal practice, you can make a huge difference to the quality of your food and ultimately your life.

I have a friend whose father was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 70 - but within just 6 months he had "cured" himself through a strict regime of excercise and healthy eating.

This shows just how we are what we eat and how we can actually heal ourselves.

Arvind, your word made a great impact on me. This spring and summer I've been really enjoying buying beautiful fruits and vegetables and other food and cooking dinner for my BF and for myself.

Both of us have type 2 diabetes, but our healthful, nutritious diet (along with exercise) help us both to control it quite well. And this is all without sacrifice. (I've given up certain bad foods like spare-ribs over the years, but I don't miss them at all.) There really is something wonderful about cooking a great meal and eating it while we talk, drink a little wine, and listen to music.

Thanks Megashyam for your feedback - as you say, why not make cooking fun?!

Do come back and share with us how you get on with your new approach to cooking.

Maybe you can write a post on your blog about this?

Enjoy!

Hi!

Your post makes me think about how I could really cook differently. I mean I cook the same things in the same way anyway - why not make it fun?

So I have decided that for the next 3 meals I cook, I will do something unique and different in each meal. This could mean cutting vegetables in a different shape, combining different ingredients - anything different that strikes me.

Thank you! :)

Thank you for your comment Jasvir and welcome to my blog.

I have been around the brahma kumaris for many years now as both my parents have been on that path for almost 30 years.

Many a time I have had the privilege to have eaten with BKs and the food always tastes divine.

I love these spiritual thoughts every religion in the world speaks of the power of thought and love. brahma kumaris for one know the importance of food and the person who does the cooking is usually one of the senior meditation yogis who keep that rememberence whilst cooking and its the most holistically nutritional food.
