Valentine’s Day - Enjoy life as a Single Person!

it is fun being single!

Around Valentine’s Day, many single people are often left feeling inadequate and missing out due to the fervent commercialisation all around them.

It is almost as if you are incomplete or there is something wrong with you, if you are single. The pressure to be out celebrating with someone special can be immense - I am sure some couples probably just go out together just for the sake of it :-)
Are you blissfully single? Or have you put your life on hold until you are in that “magical” relationship?

One, and only one of you

You are unique and so beautiful!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending a seminar by one of my mentors, Bob Proctor.

He started off by talking about the power of the mind and how unique we all are.

To make his point he read out this verse from James T Moore:-

Ask and you will receive…

ask and receive!

During the summer of 2005, I took a lot of time out to reflect and rejuvenate.

A major breakthrough also happened for me during that period of rest and reflection - I finally began to ASK people for help and support. Though I had always been great at giving, I was relatively poor at receiving and asking for help. That changed that summer - I was no longer “Mr Independent” and it felt great.

Inspiration of Desperation!

cry of help!

Do you remember cramming for a college exam the night before? You suddenly woke up to how imminent an exam was and you burnt the midnight oil to somehow get through. You also promised yourself that next time you would study much more consistently and not squander all that time.

You found yourself suddenly understanding everything and learning better and faster than ever before. You also wondered why you ever found the material difficult. For a few hours and days, you were “super smart”.

I call this phenomena “Inspiration of Desperation”!

Build up your self esteem

see yourself as a lion!

Do you suffer from low self esteem? Or are you someone who really believes in themselves?

Having positive self esteem makes you capable of meeting life’s challenges and allows you consider yourself worthy of happiness.

We all want to feel great about ourselves and to go through life feeling that we can conquer anything that comes our way. However, most of us suffer from simply feeling not good enough or lovable enough.

Create energising friendships

Friends!

Over the years, my greatest joy and fulfillment has come from my friendships.

Many a time, I have been helped out by good friends who have seen me through thick and thin.

Do you have a lot of good supporting friends who energise and uplift you? Or are you surrounded by people who drain you?

A cat has nine lives – you have one – start living it!

tired cat

Cats are said to have nine lives. In some Eastern cultures, cats only have a measly seven lives. This superstition that cats have many lives probably originated since cats can survive falls from high places with few, if any injuries. It is almost as if they return to life after sustaining a seemingly fatal accident.

This ability of cats to survive an accident that would kill humans or other animals is due to their small size and low body weight, which softens the impact with the ground.

So how is this relevant to us? Rather than a call to start chucking cats from high places, reflect on how many lives you have. Putting aside re-incarnation and past lives, you only have this one life. Even in this one life, some of you might have had some close shaves with death.

You are my Heron!

Heron in Regents Park

After talking about penguins and giraffes recently, today it is the turn of the humble Heron.

I spotted the Heron above in Regents Park last summer at the height of the heat wave. As we are now snowed under, does anyone out there now regret cursing the heat?!
