Gandhi

Last week, I was lucky enough to have my mother come and stay with me on her own for the first time in many years. We bonded once again and one evening we watched the movie “Gandhi”.

It was quite a special time and the movie brought back wonderful memories of the many times before that I have watched this remarkable movie about a remarkable man.

One of the lines in the credit titles at the end of the movie summed up for me just what an inspiritional human being Gandhi was, a tribute from Einstein:-

“Generations to come will scarcely believe that such a one as this walked the earth in flesh and blood.”

Gandhi’s message for us lives on through his many written works and memoirs.

It is now up to all of us to apply Gandhi’s teachings in our daily life – after all his message about peace and non-violence are more pertinent than ever before today.

You can start today to apply Gandhi’s message in your life, simply by focussing on this one question:-

How can I bring more peace into my life today?

To help you get started, reflect on these following questions and apply in your life:-

What will you do differently?
What will you let go doing?
What will you start doing?
What peace habit will you apply every day?
Who will you forgive and let go?
What will you stop trying to control?

Reflect on the answers to these questions. You may also want to come up with your own questions and reflections.

Just know that every little bit helps and by you being more peaceful, the rest of the world becomes more peaceful too. After all, you too have a “Gandhi” inside of you, just waiting to emerge. So perhaps Einstein was wrong after all in his tribute 🙂
