puzzled blue moon

It is the last day of the year and as the world awaits 2010 and the beginning of a new decade, what adventures and new beginnings lie ahead of you?

Today is also blue moon day. Before you go outside to check out the colour of the full, the phrase “blue moon” just means that it is the second full moon of this month.

I am writing this post in Mumbai, India and I have just seen the full moon in its full glory – and it certainly didn’t look blue.

A while back I wrote about how a blue moon means its time for new beginnings.

A blue moon is usually defined as the second full moon to occur in a single calendar month. As the average interval between full moons is 29.5 days, whilst the length of an average month is about 30.5 days, it is rare for any given month to contain two full moons.

On average, there are only 41 months per century that will have two full months so there is a blue moon roughly once every two and a half years.

It will be another 30 years before we will get a Blue Moon on New Year’s eve. So what lies ahead of you over the next 30 years?

My initial intention was to write a long post about how to make the most of 2010 and give you a list of questions to ponder on. I will however save that for the future as it struck me that there is one thing above all that will really truly make 2010 your besat year ever.

What will you do in 2010 to find your true joy and happiness?!

If in the coming year, you can find a way of being happy within yourself, I can guarantee you that all other areas of your life will get sorted in the best way possible.

And then you will know that happiness is not something that happens once in a blue moon but it is something to have all the time.

In 2010, make it a mission to find your joy and banish your blues forever.

Happy New Year everyone.
